I happened upon this male White Tailed Deer at Fenner Nature Center over the weekend. He surprised me with his antlers still in place. Many deer have lost them by this time of the year as their new set begins to grow. He patiently scoped me out from other side of a collection of woody bushes and finally ran off as I slowly tried to relocate to get a clear shot. I would have liked to have gotten this photo without the limb in the foreground. Nevertheless, his head is in focus and the branch adds some depth to the photo.
Awwww!
ReplyDeleteHis rack is rather lop-sided, with three points on one side and only one on the other. I wonder why he didn't drop his headgear over the winter?
