Yesterday, I dropped Valerie off at work and drove over to Fenner Nature Center for a few hours before going to the office. According to the long range weather forecast, Friday looked to be the only clear day in the foreseeable future. I wanted to take advantage of a few hours of sunshine despite it being a work day. When I arrived at Fenner, the thermometer in the car read -9°F. Fog from the nearby Red Cedar River with its much warmer water floated across the whole of Fenner, giving it a soft, hazy look wherever I turned.
