I discovered these tiny little ice columns in a cave of sorts the other day at the ledges in Grand Ledge's Fitzgerald Park. There was an overhang of stone that formed a very small cave. It appears that at some point the weather was warm enough for the groundwater to seep through the stone and freeze in these columns. You can see how small the columns are compared to the size of the oak leaves that rested on the cave floor.
